      WELCOME TO ALDERCON 2021

      This the fifth year of AlderCon, this growing gaming event boasts a wide range of paper & pencil Roleplaying Games, Tabletop Wargames, Boardgames and Collectable Card Games. There are also trade stands offering the opportunity to buy the latest games and supplies.

      The event is run and coordinated by members of the Alder Valley Games Society(AVGaS).

      During the day there will be two gaming sessions, with multiple games running. There are often more games available on the day so make sure you ask if there is a game or gaming system your particularly interested in.     • ABOUT ALDERCON



      This growing event has seen a wide variety of Roleplaying Games; from many genre and era's. As well as Tabletop Wargames, Collectable Card Games and Boardgames. It's intended as a great social event for Gamers to get together, try new games, encounter different gaming styles and have an opportunity to share ideas and concepts.

      This event is organised by members of Alder Valley Games Society(AVGaS) and the society have invited anyone staying over to join them for there regular gaming sessions free of charge either the Friday night before, the Sunday after or for both!

      Friday night Sessions run from 8pm till 11.45pm
      Sunday Sessions run from 2pm till 11.45pm

      THE VENUE

      This venue is on level ground with easy access although it does not a yet boast purpose made disabled facilities. Located by Hale Green there is ample break out space to take break and enjoy the August Sunshine.

      TIMETABLE

      The day is split into two, 3.5 hour gaming sessions

      Session 1 - 10 til 1.30pm
      Lunch
      Session 2 - 2.30 til 6pm
      Tea
      Session 3 - 7pm til 10.30pm

      Doors open at 9am

      Costs

      This year we are charging a day rate rather than for individual games this allows for a discount for early birds who want to register in advance, this helps with organisation.

      Early booking at the reduced rate of £7.50 is now available, on the Day the cost will be £10, so get in now!

      Car Parking

      The car park is off road and positioned immediately beside the venue. The car park is gravelled and unmarked so please park sensibly to facilitate as many cars as possible. The gravel can be uneven so mind your footing!

      The Map above shows where the bus stops are, the stop nearest us is the War Memorial one (Stop marked as A on the map), but Upper Hale, lane Adjacent to Hereford lane which is also right beside the Tescos express (stop marked as D on the map)(pavements from here down hill are patchy, be careful of the Traffic),as well as Upper Hale Road, adjacent to Vicarage Lane (Stops marked as B & C on the map) are all within roughly 6 minutes walk of the venue, click on the link in the map above to get a larger and easier to understand veiw of the map.

      Building and Society Rules and Regulations

      The following conditions are encumbent on both Visitors and Members of the Club

      Because the Society meets in and pays for the use of the facilities of a Scout Hut, the consumption of alcohol on premises is strictly and absolutely forbidden

      As the Society meets in and pays for the use of the facilities of a Scout Hut, Smoking on the premises is strictly and absolutely forbidden, there are no exceptions to this rule, if you require to smoke, you will need to leave the building, including the covered frontage of the building

      Physically Abusive or Verbally Abusive behaviour and excessive use of Foul language, as percieved by or reported to and agreed with by any present member of the societies comittee, will not be tolerated, the person, or persons considered the offender or offenders will be instructed to leave the scout hut, in case of refusal to leave, or with continued offensive behaviour
      the option to call the POLICE will likely be used
      should an assault against a member of the club or a visitor take plce on premises, including the Car Park, the offender WILL BE PROSECUTED

      In general while Gaming, and while allowing for some Role Playing Games which are set in Eras in which racial and social tolerances and social acceptances differed from modern, and while some degree in change of language and behaviour for the game may be acceptable, players are expected to be mindful of other players, their language and their behaviour so as to not cause offense

      While the societies events and sessions are open to any and all visitors, any visitor under the age of 16 MUST be accompanied by a responsible adult during the duration of their visit, or have a member of the society who is known to them agree to take responsibility

      Because the society meets in and pays for the use of the facilities of a Scout Hut, the consumption of alcohol on premises is strictly and absolutely forbidden

      while the Scout hut has wheel chair access, there are no provisions for any other special needs requirements or disabled access and use, such as disabled toilet facilities. Please keep this in mind if you require such

      The society, and the Scouts, cannot take resposibility for the safe keeping of personal property brought into the premises, and belongings carried on the persons of both visitors or members, while accidental damage or loss is highly regretable, the society will take the deliberate damaging or theft of items seriously and if neccessary will call the police and ask for any visitor or member involved to participate in any ensueing court case, anyone involved in the deliberate theft or damaging of Vistors, Members, Societies or Scout Property will be required to replace the item or items or pay for repairs to item or items, failure to comply may well result in legal action being taken. In any case, the offender or offenders will likely be banned from visiting the club for either a set period or indefinitely.

      The scout hut does have, and does allow for the use of its car park, this car park is shared with the nearby village hall and several other buildings. while the the Scout Hut does have a security light, there are no other provisions for security and the car park is not in anyones direct line of sight, as such, you may use the Car Park but at your own risk
